good news...

They officially moved up my closing date... we'd anticipated that, but they called to say I could officially move up the guaranteed closing window if I wanted. Here's the new schedule... just a little less time between each event, but they still don't have it breaking ground until February.

Milestone - Date
Excavation - February 19
Rough Grade #1 - March 17
Lumber Drop - April 20
Vinyl Siding - May 6
Insulation #1 - May 12
Commit Closing - May 12 (the day we lock in my closing date)
Drywall Tape/Finish - May 13
Cabinet Install - May 28
Carpet Install - June 9
New Home Orientation - June 18
Customer Settlement and Sign off - June 23

And some more pics of the Ames model, once again using my phone...

Stepping into the front door... half bath to the right.

A peek into the master bedroom...

And just some that made me laugh...

o christmas tree

So I don't have a house yet, but my dwelling still needs to feel like 'home'. I had grand aspirations of decorating my patio with lights - my apartment complex even has a contest, for which first prize is $100 of rent. Not a bad idea. But ambitious in the way of lights I am not. So I settled for a pre-lit tree instead. Same effect, and you can see it through the window, which is almost as good as putting lights actually OUTSIDE the patio (right?). Really, I'm saving all my Christmas light energy... letting it build up so next Christmas when I actually have a house to light, I'll be ready to face that day.
