Decorating

It's been a long time since posting... I'm getting ready to put away my Christmas decorations, but it was fun going through the house and deciding for the first time where to put everything. I don't have nearly as much non-Christmas decor/clutter so I'm afraid things will look kinda bare once I get cleaned up.

Here are a few cute ideas I want to do/try/create...

Similar, but different, a tutorial from the Shabby Nest, with a wreath idea found in the Pottery Barn catalog.

For some reason, all these things I liked had to do with books, but heaven knows I have enough of those lying about to make all these projects, so I think it was meant to be. Also from the Shabby Nest, this is a cute Halloween idea that can be adapted to be non-Halloween, too, I think. The books are still so cute and shabbily sculptural sans jack-o-lantern face. I do love the name "literary pumpkin" though!

inspection done, sod down...

Not much to report, but here's one small update... the sod is in, I have a yard (The pic is from my phone, so not that great. Hudson is obsessed with sprinklers.). We did the home inspection last week, they are fixing our findings from that (nothing major - the biggest issue we found was that one of the outside water spigots for the hose was hooked up to HOT water).


The 'orientation' and walk-through is Thursday afternoon, then I close one week from today!
