its official!

I signed my purchase agreement last night!

Now we get to wait and wait and follow along as the construction crews excavate, pour, construct, wire, install, and the many other verbs involved in building a house.

The latest info is that Hearthstone is trying to cut down the amount of time their building process takes - by as much as 5 weeks! This would allow me to close sooner than my currently scheduled window, which would be awesome. Hopefully they get some nicer days this winter that will allow them to pull even more ahead of schedule!

Milestone Schedule Date
Excavation February 19
Rough Grade #1 March 17
Lumber Drop April 20
Vinyl Siding May 4
Insulation #1 May 15
Drywall Tape/Finish May 21
Cabinet Install June 1
Carpet Install June 17
New Home Orientation June 30
Closing July 7

Update

It's been awhile, but when you're waiting to sign the purchase agreement to even buy the thing once they've built it... there's not much to do in the meantime. I've got most of my choices narrowed down, and got a call from Hearthstone yesterday to ask if I'd be interested in moving my signing date up one week. So tomorrow I'll have my final studio appointment to finalize all the options on styles, colors, extras, etc. and then Wednesday I will officially sign the contract. That will lock everything in, and at some point after THAT they can actually break ground. I'm told that takes awhile though. The time between signing and actually breaking ground... they still build in order, so once they make their way down the street they'll eventually get to my lot.

In the meantime, here are some pics I snapped with my camera phone when visiting a couple models...
