...I guess no one ever said it was a neat and tidy endeavor...

So Hudson and I met Jose (and a nameless friend who didn't answer Hudson when he asked, "What's your name?"), our resident drywall expert. Not one to be shy, he quickly worked into the conversation a question about whether I'm finishing the basement right away or not... Seeing as how he's contracted by Hearthstone to drywall my house, I can only assume he knew very well that my basement was not being finished. When I told him, no, he made sure to give me his phone number so that when I am ready to get it done, he'll be at the top of my list. Gotta give him credit for taking advantage of his 'in', I guess. I wonder how much business he really gets that way...

CLOSING DATE!!!

I got my final closing date info today! This is locked in and will not change. It is exactly as it was first scheduled way back in October - June 23rd!

New Home Orientation: 6/18 at 1pm (meet at your new home) – takes about 1 ½ - 2 hours

Sign Off: 6/23 at 10am (meet at your new home) – takes about 20-30 minutes

Closing: 6/23 at 1 PM

Now who wants to help me move?! :-) I'll be taking that Tuesday through Friday off work so I can do any prep work before moving (painting accent walls, etc.). I figure I'll have to do the bulk of my moving on Saturday the 27th if I want any help, so I'll do as much as I can on my own before that. Thanks to Rex and Eileen for offering to bring the trailer down the week before!! That will help a ton because I can start loading up!

siding

They started siding on Saturday (finally)! My theory is that they were waiting for the inspection to pass (??) b/c I saw all the inspection paperwork/stickers when I went on Friday. Anyhow, they finally got it started, but only did half of the back the first day... Maybe it took a long time to get set up? The two sides were done on Monday (May 11) and today the front was done, despite the rain that started this afternoon - they must have gotten it up in time to avoid that. Just gutters left, I think (I'll put shutters on myself once I close).
